Famous celebrity blogger turned unofficial LGBT spokesperson and fitness expert Perez Hilton is now trying to explore a new side of his creativity: he’s releasing a children’s book called “The Boy with Pink Hair.”

Since he announced his decision to no longer bully and demean celebrities on his website, which happens to be visited by many of them as well, Perez is looking to prove that he’s really turned over a new leaf.

The children’s book will fall under this, under his attempts at making a change for the better. It’s a story of how different is not necessarily bad and of how acceptance is ultimately the road to love, as a press release on his blog states.

“‘The Boy with Pink Hair’ celebrates individuality and self-acceptance, and is inspired by Hilton’s desire to promote equality in readers of all ages,” the statement says.

It’s the story of a boy born with pink hair who is constantly mocked by his mates and made to feel as if he’s worse off than them because of this peculiarity of his.

Eventually, he discovers that great power comes with the pink hair and he learns to use it for the good of mankind. Not incidentally, Perez too once rocked pink hair, so it’s not that far-fetched to see his own story in the book.

“I am so proud of The Boy with Pink Hair, its important message and the creativity and the passion of the author delivering it – Perez Hilton,” Raymond Garcia, publisher of Celebra Children’s Books, says of the upcoming release.

“The Boy with Pink Hair is a defining story about how believing in yourself and following your aspirations can not only bring out the best in you, but also in those around you. With fun, colorful and endearing characters, Perez reminds readers that by simply accepting our differences we can find the things that unite us all,” Garcia adds.

Perez’s book will come out in September 2011 and will initially be printed in 75,000 copies.
