This release of Percona XtraBackup is the current GA (Generally Available) stable release in the 2.x. series and all the fixes are pertaining to this particular version.
Highlights of Percona XtraBackup 2.1.5:
• Percona XtraBackup has now been rebased on MySQL versions 5.1.73, 5.5.35, 5.6.15 and Percona Server versions 5.1.73-rel14.11 and 5.5.35-rel33.0; • Percona XtraBackup has been affected by an upstream bug, but it has been corrected; • Backup directory no longer needs to be specified even for running the innobackupex with --help and --version options; • Percona XtraBackup now rolls back prepared XA transactions when applying the log; • Percona XtraBackup now uses libgcrypt built in randomization functions.
