The people have spoken: in what is deemed the awards show that best reflects today’s tastes, People’s Choice Awards, “Hunger Games” left competitors in the dust to become the most popular movie of 2012.

The film, the first in the series based on Suzanne Collins’ trilogy, took home no less than 4 different awards, including for Favorite Movie, Favorite Action Movie and Favorite Movie Franchise, and Favorite On-Screen Chemistry, thanks to stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Chris Hutcherson.

Lawrence also took home 2 awards on her own, one of Favorite Movie Actress and Face of Heroism, thus further consolidating her status as one of the moment’s hottest actresses.

In music, Katy Perry was the big winner of the night, scooping up 3 awards for Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Pop Artist and Favorite Video, with “Part of Me.”

Also during the ceremony, which was hosted by the always charming Kaley Cuoco, Sandra Bullock was honored for charity work, becoming the first recipient of the Favorite Humanitarian awards.
