Very befitting for the one whom her fans have dubbed The Voice long before NBC was even thinking of creating the show with the same name, Christina Aguilera was honored with the People’s Voice Award at last night’s People’s Choice Awards 2013.

As the video above will confirm, she also performed “Blank Page,” one of the songs off her latest album, “Lotus.”

Fans note online that, for the first time in a long time, if not actually ever, Christina’s voice is rather shaky and weak at the beginning of the song.

Even so, she more than makes up for it in the second verse, which she delivers with power and incredibly raw emotion.

Emotion might be the key word here, as possible explanation for why Christina faltered at first: reports online say she cried during rehearsals and was still very emotional.

That much seems to be confirmed by what she says at the end of her performance as well.

Check it out.
