The fans have spoken: the People’s Choice Awards 2011 has officially crowned “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” the hottest movie of last year, while Johnny Depp and Kristen Stewart were named best actors.
This year’s edition of the
awards ceremony, which took place on January 5 in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theater and was broadcast live, celebrated the best of the best in the industry, from music to film and television.
As noted above, “Eclipse” was the big winner of the night, scooping no less than 4 separate awards, including the much-coveted one for Favorite Movie.
“Eclipse” also won Favorite Drama Movie, and brought Stewart a nod for Favorite Movie Actress. It was also voted Favorite On Screen Team, with Robert Pattinson, Stewart and Taylor Lautner as the members of said team.
Also in film, we find Johnny Depp named Favorite Movie Actor, while Jackie Chan won for Favorite Action Star. Adam Sandler won for Favorite Comedic Star.
In television, the biggest winners were, as expected, “House M.D.,” “Glee” and “Dexter,” with “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and “The Simpsons” also picking up two awards for Favorite TV Guilty Pleasure and Favorite TV Family respectively.
Conan O’Brien won for Favorite Talk Show Host (again, not much surprise here), Tim Roth was named Favorite TV Crime Fighter, while Rachel Ray won Favorite TV Chef.
In music, Eminem, Rihanna and Katy Perry literally cleaned up the awards, with the first two taking home 4 and 3 statuettes, respectively. Katy only won 2.
Taylor Swift was named Favorite Country Artist, while Paramore was crowned Favorite Rock Band. Below is the complete list of winners from all the categories: check it out to see if your favorite made the cut.
