People appear to be quite disinterested in the Apple Watch

Apple might have been a little late to the wearable market, but the Watch is finally here and everybody seems to be super excited about it. But appearances are often pretty misguided.

Since the Apple Watch won’t be available for purchase until early 2015, perspective customers have the time to really think their decision through. And the preliminary results seem to suggest most folks will stay away from the Watch.

Canadian investment bank, RBC Capital Markets conducted a survey which included 6,000 people who were asked whether they were planning to purchase the Apple Watch or not (as spotted at Market Watch).

Well, only 11% of the individuals included in the poll responded positively to the question, while 24% said they were still lingering in a state of uncertainty.

If we assume the 24% finally cease in to temptation and purchase the watch, it still means only 35% of people will spend their earnings on the Apple wearable.

There are many reasons why people are skittish about purchasing the Apple wearable and one of them might have to do with privacy. In the wake of the leaked celebrity private pictures, customers want to be sure their data will be kept safe.

In an earlier piece, I highlighted four reasons why it’s not a good idea to purchase the Apple Watch.
