It looks like Samsung isn't the only one with a special new camera on the way, nor is it the only company that is using endorsement from others as a marketing tactic. Pentax is doing it too.

This situation is rather more understated though: rather than an Olympic celebrity, photographer Mike Svitek is the one that got to try out the 24MP Pentax K-3 full frame camera.

He has even posted a message on his Google+ account.

The 24-megapixel image sensor means that the product can shoot very sharp images in impressive resolution. We wouldn't be surprised if video could be recorded in better than Full HD quality (1920 x 1080 pixels).

The ISO range (light sensitivity) is of 25,600, and extended to 102,400.

“I love the tones, the dynamic range is amazing, and the resolution (while being too high for my taste) has its advantages when clearing up some noise,” Svitek wrote.
