Who would've thought that a cappella music could score so many hits on YouTube? Well, the five talented singers behind Pentatonix have given a cappella music a new twist. Making a mix of Beyonce's songs, from the time she was part of Destiny's Child to her latest hits, the band went viral on YouTube again.

After a series of viral covers of famous songs like “ Somebody That I used toKknow” by Gotye, “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore, “Royals” by Lorde, and the well-known mix “The Evolution of Music,” the group is now basking in the spotlight for their 6-minute medley of Beyonce's most popular songs.

The group released the 28-song medley over the weekend and got more than 3 million hits in just a few days. The medley is both a tribute to Beyonce and a celebration video for reaching half a million likes on their Pentatonix Facebook page.

The video was also a strategic move in promoting their third album, “PTX, Vol 2,” coming out on the November 5.

When asked about the idea behind the “Evolution of Beyonce” medley, Scott Hoying told The Hollywood Reporter that “everyone has been asking for another evolution-type video, and I'm the biggest Beyonce fan of life, so I said, ‘No one will even have to work, I will handle this entire arrangement!’ The next day, we had the song outline with every transition – I was ready.”

Pentatonix won season 3 of the Sing-Off competition in 2011 and has been dominating music charts with original music and amazing a cappella covers of famous songs since then.

The group, consisting of beatboxer Kevin Olusola, bass Avi Kaplan and harmonic trio Scott Hoying, Grassi and Kirsten Maldonado, is touring both in North America and Europe.

Their new album is believed to be the next top hits album on iTunes and it's already available via Billboard's album premiere.

It features covers for Ryan Lewis and Macklemore's song “Can't Hold Us,” Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris's song “I Need Your Love,” and the already popular “Daft Punk” medley.
