Penguins Take Over Cellulars with "Surf's Up"

The cutest possible invasion

"Surf's Up" is the kind of entertainment concept that is bound to be successful, no matter the environment it reaches. After being a mockumentary film, a PC, playstation 3 and wii game, it has finally reached mobile phones too, as the perfect environment to evolve.

It looks like penguins

are among the cutest and funniest animals to make a comic movie about. They are small, clumsy and incredibly adorable. Sounds like all the ingredients of developing a success for any environment, with slight adaptations.

Gameloft has decided to bring "Surf's Up" on mobile phones too from now on. It allows the player to step into the shoes (figurative speaking) of Cody Maverick and enjoy a wide range of different locations, ranging from Antarctica to tropical paradises.

In order to make gameplay more complex and break monotony, Gameloft has split the action in two modes. One is made of side-scrolling platform, whereas the other one includes the underwater activities of a penguin. There will be almost 20 levels to enjoy, with eight bonus stages which include several challenging mini-games. Aside these, there will also be some secrets to discover after replaying levels and managing to collect as many bonuses as possible.

If there is one thing that someone will never have to find faulty in this game, well...that's the graphics. The cartoon-like drawings make gameplay quite enjoyable and the vivid colors certainly manage to bring an extra amount of liveliness in the characters' actions. Match this with some cute penguins swimming, surfing and skiing and you will have the ultimate mobile phone game to break away boredom.

Gameloft has made no specifications on the exact date when this game will be available, although they are currently preparing it for a launch. This can only mean that we will be seeing it pretty soon and have the chance to surf in penguin-style.
