Penguin books were suddenly pulled form the online Amazon Kindle Library lending service, but they seem to have returned, at least in part.

What that means is that existing e-books can be borrowed again, but there is no word on future releases, according to OverDrive anyway.

No details were provided, even now, about the “security concerns” that caused Penguin to pull its e-books in the first place.

The newer titles that were supposed to become available with time are in an uncertain situation. Penguin does hope to find a solution by the end of the ongoing year though (2011).

Hopefully, whatever incongruities it had with Amazon will not degenerate into the sort of consumer nightmare that corporate quarrels are known to cause.

Then again, this being IT, you never really know.
