Someone's birthday wish turned out to come true. Either that, or it must be an early Christmas for actress Penelope Cruz, who is being listed by several media outlets as the next Bond girl in the upcoming “Bond 24.”

Producers for the movie are said to be currently courting the Spanish actress to play opposite Daniel Craig in the upcoming spy movie directed by Sam Mendes. The information comes via The Sun, that claims to have seen a leaked document from the Sony Pictures studio.

The document was in the form of a press release that was sent out in France, and it reportedly listed Penelope Cruz as a cast member, in the role of the Bond girl.

A source tells the British tabloid, “Bond bosses have been chasing her since Daniel became 007 in 2006. But schedules and her pregnancies meant it never materialised. At this stage no one at Sony will confirm it.”

Sam Medez previously worked with Penelope's husband, Javier Bardem, who acted out the role of the villain Raoul Silva in another Bond movie, “Skyfall.” If the information turns out to be true, there are bound to be some jobs opening up real soon at Sony Pictures, simply because Sam Mendes is fierce when it comes to protecting the details of his upcoming projects.
