Penelope Cruz and husband Javier Bardem are getting ready to become parents once more: they are now expecting their second child, it has emerged.

The couple already have a son together and, if Penelope’s first pregnancy is anything to go by, they will probably take their time and announce the happy news when they’re ready.

For the time being, fans have only a PageSix report to go by, but no official confirmation.

“The Spanish beauty has been spotted recently with a fuller figure and sources close to the star confirm that she is indeed pregnant,” the e-zine writes.

“She and husband Javier Bardem are already parents to Leo Encinas Bardem, who was born January 2011 at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles,” the same publication says.

If the rumor that Penelope is pregnant again is true, the Cruz household must be overjoyed right now, especially since her sister, Monica Cruz, has recently announced that she was expecting her first child as well, by donor.

Penelope and Javier have always fought hard for their right to privacy, with the actress admitting in her first interview after giving birth that she would fight tooth and nail for her children to grow up as anonymously as possible.

“I want my son – and my kids if I have more – to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible. The fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work that we do doesn’t give anybody the right to invade our privacy,” she said, as we also reported at the time.

In the same interview, the actress talked about motherhood and giving birth, calling the experience a “revolutionary” one because it “transforms you completely in a second.”
