Penelope Cruz Is Pregnant, Rep Confirms

Penelope Cruz is currently shooting scenes for the upcoming “Pirates of the Caribbean” film and, amidst rumors that she’s with child, her rep confirms: she’s 4 months and a half pregnant.

Speculation about the Spanish actress being with child used to make headlines before with almost clock-like regularity but, so far, it was never confirmed.

Even more, it wasn’t even addressed by her publicist, which, once again, confirms that when it comes to her personal life, this one actress would rather she kept it out of the media.

However, not even she could not address the frenzy that has been tearing through the blogosphere once a fresh set of pictures of her on set ended up online.

People magazine covered the story, saying the actress seemed pregnant – but, at the same time, pointing out that she could have been wearing a fake baby bump for her part.

As it turns out, the bump is for real – and Penelope and husband Javier Bardem will become parents for the first time in a little under half a year.

“The question of whether it’s a baby bump or a costume has been answered: ‘Penelope is 4½-months pregnant,’ reps for Penelope Cruz and husband Javier Bardem confirm,” People writes.

“Photos of Cruz, 36, on the set of her upcoming movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, had sparked buzz that the recently married actress was expecting,” the mag says.

“Cruz was snapped in Puerto Rico sporting a flowing top and a possible bump,” People further informs.

Since, as noted above, this had happened before (quite a few times, actually), few were those who dared say out loud that she was pregnant, settling instead for just wondering.

Luckily, they didn’t have to wonder for long.

In July this year, it emerged that Penelope and longtime beau Javier Bardem, whom she met on the set of “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” had gotten married in a secret ceremony in the Bahamas.

Only a handful of friends and family members attended the exclusive happy event, as we also informed you at the time.
