The game is slated for release “a few weeks later in December”

Bad news for console gamers who anxiously await the release of Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as the list of titles supposedly launching along with the next-gen consoles is shrinking as time goes by.

After Sony announced Driveclub will not be released along with the PlayStation 4 in November, and Ubisoft postponed Watch Dogs until next year, here is another developer that makes a similar announcement.

However, this time those affected are Microsoft fans who already pre-ordered the Xbox One are preparing to grab one soon.

VentureBeat reports PopCap senior director of PR Garth Chouteau told GamesBeat over e-mail that Peegle 2 is not an Xbox One launch-day game anymore.

Unfortunately, the sequel to one of the most popular puzzle game for Xbox 360 will not be released in late November due to unforeseen problems.

According to Chouteau “Peggle 2 is a ‘launch timeframe’ title. But will not launch day-and-date with the Xbox One – instead, it will become available a few weeks later in December.”

Although Microsoft stated during this year's Gamescom conference that Peggle 2 will be released the same day as Xbox One, developer PopCap claims the Redmond-based company has “mischaracterized” the game when it talked about its timeframe release.

According to Peggle 2 developers more details on the unexpected delay will be available in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more on that.

As we're closing in to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 release date, more and more developers delay their games claiming they need more time to polish their games.

For those still unaware, Xbox One is expected to debut in around 13 countries on November 22, while PlayStation 4 will be available on the market a week earlier in some regions.

Sony's console will be released gradually in more countries beginning late November, but we're still waiting for Microsoft to unveil it's Xbox One launch scheduler for the rest of the countries.
