Peggle 2 developer PopCap Games believes that the new title will take the classic Peggle recipe and make it even more awesome by improving many areas and by making it simple to access yet hard to master.

The original Peggle delighted lots of gamers from around the world, both casual and hardcore ones, by delivering a simple experience that required a lot of patience and time to adequately master.

Now, developer PopCap Games is getting ready to debut Peggle 2 later today, December 9, on the Xbox One, as a timed exclusive experience.

The new title will bring new adventures, levels, and Peggle Masters, which will help players with various abilities.

According to PopCap's Jared Neuss, who talked with Microsoft on Larry Hryb's blog, the new title will further improve many elements form the original.

“It’s all about taking everything that was great about the previous Peggle games and making it even more awesome. The visuals are richer, the audio is more sublime and the gameplay is more challenging and varied. The core of what makes Peggle so great is still intact, but we’ve managed to build an experience on it that feels completely new and unique.”

What's more, Neuss confirmed that it had been a bit hard during the early stages of development to nail down what exactly made Peggle so special and popular, but in the end the team managed to recreate that same experience.

“The trick is to create an experience that’s easy to pick up and play but very difficult to master. If someone plays the game for a few minutes, they should be able to have an absolute blast. If they spend a bit more time digging in, though, we want them to have that ‘a-ha!’ moment where they uncover layers of strategy that they weren’t aware of before.”

Peggle 2 will be a timed exclusive for the Xbox One and will then appear for other platforms, like the Xbox 360 or PS4, according to previous rumors.
