When it spin off from Asus, Pegatron's job was to handle OEM manufacturing of motherboards and component, but it seems like this isn't enough anymore for the Taiwanese company as, during CES 2011, presented a mobo that is based on its own design.

Although nothing extremely special, as it is yet another AMD Brazos powered mainboard, this marks a turning point in the company's history as it's their first in-hose designed motherboard solution.

What this basically means is that Pegatron could enter the retail market pretty soon, challenging the likes of Asus, Gigabyte or MSI.

Moving back to the board, however, this seem your pretty standard Fusion mainboard that houses an AMD Zacate or Ontario APU (accelerated processing unit).

These chips are different form all other AMD processors released until know as they pack a CPU together with a GPU on the same die, a concept similar to that used by Intel's Sandy Bridge.

However, unlike boards released by other manufacturers, the Pegatron APXBZ is a pretty basic solution as its expandability options are limited and it doesn't seem to bring any special features to the party.

From the picture provide by SemiAccurate, it can easily be seen that the board is based on the mini-ITX form factor and carries two DDR3 DIMM memory slots, three SATA storage expansion ports, a regular PCI slot as well as a mini PCIe slot.

Power is provided via a 24-pin connector and the motherboard packs an additional PWM fan header placed right next to the CPU heatsink.

Other features can't be distinguished form the low-res picture available, but it seems like no USB 3.0 ports are available.

Unfortunately, no other details are known at this time, so we can only guess when the Pegatron APXBZ reaches the retail market and what price tag it will carry.
