Kickstarter really came through for this Bluetooth wrist watch

When Kickstarter agreed to try and turn the Pebble smartwatch into more than a fleeting invention, we doubt anyone expected things to go so well.

The initial supply of Pebble watches was 85,000 units and was only intended to get the public to warm up to the idea of an electronic watch with extra capabilities.

Eventually, even Bluetooth 4.0 was added and, as of today (May 11), the first batch is completely sold out and the fundraising mark is at 10 million instead of the sought after $100,000. Needless to say, a second shipment is being put together.

One thing that Pebble does is notify you of whatever e-mail or message you’ve just received on your phone or tablet, or other iOS or Android device. It can also download and run watchfaces and activity-specific watchapps (control music, running, cycling, golf, etc.), several of which can be open at once.
