It appears that Samsung Galaxy S III will miss its official launch date, at least in the UK. Several carriers and retailers across the country have recently confirmed they won’t be able to offer the pebble blue version of the Galaxy S III on launch day.

First news on Samsung’s decision to delay the launch of the pebble blue Galaxy S III surfaced over the weekend when a Scandinavian retailer and UK-based reseller Negri Electronics reported they would not ship this particular version of Samsung’s Android flagship smartphone.

Today, Vodafone and Clove have issued official statements and informed their customers the pebble blue Galaxy S III would not arrive on time.

Moreover, Vodafone also announced its customers who pre-ordered either the 32GB white or the 32GB pebble blue versions of the device that they wouldn’t receive them on launch day as they had initially anticipated.

The bad news for Vodafone customers is that the carrier does not have specific delivery dates at the moment, but it hopes to be able to begin shipping them within the next 2-4 weeks.

On the other hand, customers who pre-ordered their pebble blue Galaxy S III smartphones via Clove UK are likely to receive their devices next week.

According to the retailers, the first stock is expected to arrive during the week commencing 5th June, though this has yet to be confirmed by the South Korean handset manufacturer.

However, it appears that Clove also delayed the marble white Galaxy S III, so instead of receiving it on May 30 as originally planned, customers will get it on June 1.

The international Samsung Galaxy S III is now officially available in 28 countries, but it looks like the blue pebble version will be introduced a bit later in some markets.

Samsung has yet to comment on the reasons behind this delay, but rumor has it that there were some issues during the manufacturing process of the battery covers and the company was forced to destroy most of these. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
