Pebble Technology Corp. has announced an update to its Pebble Smartwatch app for iPhone. Version 2.0 comes with full access to the Pebble App store with options to “browse, find and install the latest watchapps for Pebble.”

According to the makers of one of the world’s first smart-watches, the Pebble watchapp directory is now open to iOS customers via the Pebble Smartwatch 2.0 app.

Users can “browse, find and install the latest watchapps for Pebble,” keep track of their favorite apps, and manage the apps on their smart-watch.

The list of prior notifications is now stored on the Pebble, and the user interface design of the iOS app has been completely revamped.

“Pebble's mission is to make products that mesh easily with your life. Until now, Pebble users discovered apps and watchfaces through several awesome third party resources like MyPebbleFaces. The Pebble appstore changes all this by providing a simple one-stop-shop for you to discover, manage, and install apps and watchfaces,” says the company.

Much like Apple’s own App Store, the Pebble app store is organized into different categories, like Daily, Tools & Utilities, Notifications, Remotes, Fitness, and Games.

“This makes it easier than ever to find your next favorite app — whether you’re tracking your workout, managing your music, or controlling your thermostat,” the company adds.

Apps are sorted by new and top downloads, and they will probably include ratings and reviews in the near future as a further means of separating good quality apps from poorer entries.

Currently there are around 1,000 different apps in the venue, which is certainly not too shabby for a smart-watch app store. Pebble partners include Yelp, GoPro, and Foursquare.

A beta of the Pebble app for Android is now available for developers. The beta includes the Pebble app store.
