Pear OS 8, a beautiful and elegant operating system based on Ubuntu, will be released in a little under three days.

The official Pear OS website has been replaced by a countdown timer that indicates the release date of the new OS.

In case you didn't know, Pear OS is an operating system that tries – and succeeds, for the most part –, to imitate Mac OS in all aspects. The developers have gone even a little further and have brought some icons from the iOS 7 into the desktop experience.

The distribution comes with a lot of unique tools, including its own Software Center, a Pear PPA Manager, Pear Cloud, and a few others.

If you don't want to wait until the official release, you can always download Pear OS 8 Beta 3 and test it.
