PeaZip 4.9, an open source file and archive manager that can be used to extract, create and convert multiple archives at once, has been announced.

PeaZip is a cross platform file manager and archive manager utility that provides a unified portable GUI for many free, Open Source technologies like 7-Zip, FreeArc, PAQ, UPX.

Highlights of PeaZip 4.9:

• A new and improved file/archive browser, with a new engine for customization theme, has been added; • More keyboard shortcuts have been added; • More available browser's styles and sizes have been added; • Better information is now provided during drag and drop operations; • Adding files to specified archive format from context menu directly starts compression without requiring further user interaction; • The release is compiled with up-to-date Lazarus/FPC 1.0.6, which especially improves Qt version on Linux systems.
