After confirming over the weekend that Payday 2 will receive a set of new add-ons, developer Overkill Software now reveals that there will be two new DLC packs, in the form of the Diamond Heist and the Clover Character Pack, which brings the first female robber to the cooperative crime game.

Payday 2 launched some time ago and has since impressed a lot of first-person shooter fans thanks not just to its great action, but also to its complex heists, varied mechanics, and the dedication exhibited by Overkill Software, which has rolled out many different updates over the last year.

New DLCs are coming soon

Now, the studio is talking on its official website about its new add-ons for Payday 2, which include not just an impressive heist, but also a new playable character that should delight female fans.

First up, as teased over the weekend, is the Diamond Heist add-on, which is priced at 7 USD (around 5.63 EUR, but the actual price is still unknown for that region). As its name suggests, the DLC allows players to engage in a museum heist with one key target – a diamond that's been passed down through history and has brought forth all sorts of bad luck to owners, from Genghis Khan to Adolf Hitler and much more.

As you can see in the screenshots below, there are quite a few interesting environments included in the DLC, and as always, plenty of interesting gunfights to be had.

Clover is joining the gang

Besides offering the new heist, Overkill is also bringing forth the Clover Character Pack DLC, which includes the first female character in the series. Players will soon be able to control the Irish robber for just 5 USD (around 4 EUR).

She comes with her own custom mask, as you can see in the screenshots below, but also with a special weapon called The Queen's Wrath, not to mention a melee weapon in the form of a Shillelagh and her very own custom Burglar perk deck, which features a lot of highly desirable attributes.

"The natural dexterity of the burglar has benefits beyond merely breaking and entering. Being nimble allows the burglar to pick locks, bag bodies and answer pagers faster. They are also harder to hit in combat. They stay alive by staying out of the way. This physical conditioning also gives burglars a high tolerance to pain, and they are able to shrug off wounds quickly," the studio confirms.

The new add-ons will drop later this week for Payday 2 and more details are expected in the third day of the update announcement.
