Publisher 505 Games has announced that Payday 2, the cooperative first-person shooter dealing mainly in pulling off daring heists, will also be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

The game will arrive on the next-gen platforms under the title Payday 2: Crimewave Edition, 505 Games has informed, but the company has refrained from revealing more details about the upcoming Xbox One and PS4 port.

The reveal has been made during this year's edition of the E3 gaming trade show, with the publisher also mentioning that Payday 2: Crimewave Edition is going to bring a ton of bonus content and enhanced features on the next-gen platforms.

The game was launched last year for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms, as a sequel to 2011's Payday: The Heist. Since then, developer Overkill Software has been focusing mostly on the PC edition of the shooter, but the company has just informed us that a considerable amount of new DLC is headed to the console versions, so get ready to do a lot more money grabbing and running in the near future.

The company has not yet announced a release date, so we'll keep our eyes open and come back with the info once it's out.
