PayPal, the eBay affiliated company specialized in payment solution, has begun recruiting staff for a new mobile payments unit. The advertised positions were for a business manager and a senior product manager and
were posted on a group called PayPal Mobile.

The company has been observing the mobile payments market for some time and it desires to promote an integrated payment solution for mobile content and gaming. In the ads, the company describes itself as "a dynamic, young 'start-up' business unit within PayPal dedicated to bringing value-added mobile payment services to consumers and merchants".

This announcement appears shortly after the main rival competitor, TextPayMe, launched a service that allows users to transfer funds using SMS text messages.
