Gorgeous model and singer Paulina Gretzky, daughter of hockey icon Wayne Gretzky, is officially off the market. Yesterday, boyfriend Dustin Johnson popped the question with a giant diamond ring, and “she said yes.”

The two have been dating since January this year.

It was Johnson who broke the news of the engagement on social media, posting a photo of Paulina’s hand with the sparkler on, which he captioned, “She said yes!!!”

You can see that picture attached to the article.

Paulina expressed her feelings at the engagement via the same channel, posting another photo of herself and Johnson kissing. It comes with the caption “Never Been Happier.”

She also retweeted some congratulatory messages from family, friends and fans.

However, for the time being, the two are yet to talk about their wedding plans.

As noted above, Paulina and Dustin started dating in January, but they had actually known each other for a very long time before they became intimate.

“We were friends for a long time before we started dating,” Dustin told the press after they went public with the romance.

As anyone keeping up with celebrity gossip probably knows, breaking this type of news on social media has become somewhat of a tradition.

Whenever stars don’t feel like making an announcement via a publicist or a press release, they take to Twitter and Instragram and provide their fans with the news directly, including with a first look at the bauble.

Just recently, “Sopranos” star Jamie-Lynn Sigler did the same, posting a photo of herself with boyfriend Cutter Dykstra grinning at the camera, while she’s flashing her brand new bling.

“So this happened…” she wrote, letting fans read in between the lines, as we also reported at the time.

“She said yes!” Cutter also said on his Twitter feed.
