The interview that should have taken place last Friday finally happened a couple of hours ago: famous TV cook and businesswoman Paula Deen sat down for a talk with Matt Lauer on The Today Show, offering her side of the story in the recent racist row.

Below is video of the entire interview.

Deen starts by explaining the reason she agreed to do it, insisting it wasn’t because she’s bleeding money from lost endorsement deals.

She also says that she would not have fired herself if the roles were reversed (like The Food Network and a major pork company did) because she would have known she was not a racist.

Towards the end of the video, Paula gets extremely emotional, saying that she was raised to believe that everyone is born equal. She would never lie – so fans must take her at her word that she only used the N-word once.

“If there's anyone out there that has never said something that they wished they could take back. If you're out there, please pick up that stone and throw it so hard at my head that it kills me. Please. I want to meet you. I is what I is and I'm not changing,” Paula says.
