This should serve as definite proof that nothing in this world is sacred anymore. TMZ is reporting that a couple of items taken from the Paul Walker crash site are going up for auction, just months after the “Fast & Furious” actor tragically passed away in a violent car crash.

Among the items that are going up for sale are the actor's sunglasses, which he was actually wearing at the time of the crash, as illustrated by photographs taken mere minutes before the Porsche Carrera GT his friend Roger Rodas was driving hit a lamppost at great speeds and burst into flames, killing them both instantly.

The other items in the auction that is set up on BidAMI include a fire extinguisher and several bits of burnt off carbon fiber. The anonymous seller claims that he was present at the crash site when the accident took place and was trying to help, but police created a perimeter and sent him away.

He continues to say that he remained on the scene as fire fighters and cops cleared the wreckage and conducted their investigation. After the tape was lifted, he claims to have walked the area but found nothing more than some charred residue.

Upon further inspection in the nearby bushes, he found a pair of scuffed sunglasses. At the time, he says he didn't realize to whom the glasses belonged and that he showed them to a police officer who dismissed them as evidence.

He kept the sunglasses eventually, along with other pieces of carbon fiber he found on the scene as memorabilia. It wasn't until the next day that the seller realized the sunglasses belonged to Paul Walker, as he saw photos in the media with the actor wearing them in his final moments.

In order to prove that the items for sale are real, the auctioneer is putting up photos of himself at the crash site, as well as giving a short description as to how he came into possession of said items.

For many, this auction raises a great number of moral issues, but there is no doubt that this auction is going to receive some hefty bids from fans of the racing movies series and of Paul Walker. As of today, the bid on the pair of sunglasses was just over $600 (€432.4).

It's a sad day when people use a celebrity's death for profit, but what's even sadder is that this is definitely the first time this happens and obviously not the last time either. It's just an earmark for our current, currency-driven society that people would exploit other's misfortunes for their own personal gain.
