Fallon ports the lip sync battle to The Tonight Show, it’s already a hit

Jimmy Fallon has ported several of his most popular skits to The Tonight Show and, to the joy of all his fans, they also included the famous Lip Sync Battle idea. Last night, he had Paul Rudd step into the fictitious ring for a hilarious fake-sing-off.

You can watch it in the video above. The rules of the competition are simple: each contestant picks a few songs that he or she likes best, without letting the rival know which these are.

Rudd picked Tina Turner’s “Be Good to Me” as his opening number, and he did such a fine job with it that Fallon almost didn’t want to follow it up. I say “almost” because he eventually did, killing it with a very lively lip sync cover of Foreigner’s “Jukebox Hero.”

For his last act, Paul picked Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now,” which included so many fancy dance moves and hand gestures that he had to remove the microphone and its stand to make sure he wouldn’t injure himself or cause damage to studio property.

It was all well worth it because, even though he was breathless by the time he wrapped it up, Rudd was declared winner of the competition. Fallon forfeited – and it was very good that he did, because Paul was the best.

Do enjoy; I know that I have.
