Proving that one nasty and very expensive divorce is not enough to deter anyone from finding true love again, Beatles star Paul McCartney is engaged again. He and Nancy Shevell are now making wedding plans, it has emerged.

Three years ago, McCartney (68) was officially divorced from Heather Mills – and about $49 million poorer for the same reason.

One year before that, he’d started dating New Yorker Nancy, which, as expected, sent the tabs into a frenzy with speculation on whether they’d ever make it down the aisle, as PopEater also notes.

As it turns out, they will soon enough: the bride to be has already confirmed the happy news, as also has a rep for the legendary singer.

Nevertheless, more details about the engagement are not available at this point in time.

“It’s true. That’s all, but thank you, have a good weekend,” Nancy says. McCartney’s publicist has also confirmed the news, saying only “we’re all thrilled for him.”

While more details on the engagement may not be available via the official channels, reports say that the two are a perfect match and that chemistry between them was amazing from day one – and remains so to this day, clearly.

“Nancy and Paul are getting married. Ring and all – very exciting,” an unnamed source close to the couple tells People magazine, as per the aforementioned e-zine.

“They have the right chemistry. They’re both cool, chilled out and optimistic,” the spy adds.

This will be Paul McCartney’s third marriage: he lost his first wife Linda to cancer in 1998 and married Heather four years later.

After a rather brief marriage, the two filed for divorce and, as noted above, it was one of the most scandalous celebrity divorces ever, since Heather reportedly asked for half of McCartney’s fortune while also making some pretty shocking allegations of abuse and violence.

The divorce settlement ($48.6 million) remains one of the most expensive to date.
