Strategic Command 2: Blitzkrieg will receive its second
expansion pack thanks to Fury Software and Battlefront.com, in order to further enhance the gameplay experience of the people
who already have the game. Named Patton Drives East, this expansion pack comes with a few more
World War II possible scenarios, asking the question most of the developers start asking now: "What if..." This is just the result of the fact that the game devs have already used ALL they could from the WWII. Pffft... makes me mad already.
Anyway, Patton Drives East comes with the questions or, rather, with the answers to these questions: What if the Western Allies and the Soviet Union went to war after defeating the Axis? Could America liberate a Europe subjugated by the Axis? What if the Western Allies had accepted a surrender from Germany and together they would fight against the USSR? If you really care about that and you would like to solve them in a Strategic Command 2: Blitzkrieg, there is only one option for you: get the expansion!
If you do so, you will get a new, bigger and better map (172x46 tiles - if that makes any difference), a much larger North America stretching from Florida and the Gulf of Mexico all the way to the Rocky Mountains, new graphics for the units and the prototypes that are available throughout the campaigns, scorecards and "much, much more...", as the developers promise.
Patton Drives East is scheduled to be completed and released sometime during this Summer as a direct download from battlefront.com or as a mail-order from the same address. There is still not an exact release date, nor a price you should expect. In order to run Strategic Command 2: Patton Drives East, you will need the original battlefront.com version of the game - both installed and licensed on your computer.
