Summit Entertainment dispels rumors about new rules on set

“Eclipse,” the third installment in “The Twilight Saga,” is currently shooting on location in Vancouver, as fans must already know. The entire cast is assembled, including Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, so a rumor emerged that director David Slade was sick of their ramblings about and had placed them on lockdown. Not quite so, Summit says, as cited by EntertainmentWise.

According to reports earlier this week, Slade was apparently sick and tired with the wild ways of the entire cast, as well as with the constant media attention that they inevitably drew to themselves. Therefore, he forbade them to leave their temporary homes to some extent by placing them on “lockdown,” so that he could concentrate on his work and get “Eclipse” done as soon as possible, word in the tabloid media had it. In other words, he told them they should return to their hotel rooms as soon as shooting was done for the day.

As it turns out, this was never the case and the movie studio behind the highly successful franchise, Summit Entertainment, wants fans to know the report was entirely unfounded. “A spokesperson for Summit Entertainment told Gossip Cop ‘the idea that there is a lockdown is completely false.’” EntertainmentWise writes, completely squashing the rumor that fans would not get to see their idols in public for at least the duration of the shoot (which might be another few months, if one were to judge by how things went with the previous film, “New Moon”).

Speaking of the third film, “Eclipse,” Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale in it, was saying just recently that it would represent a blend of new and old, as Slade and the producers were planning on integrating scenes with his story as well. This means, Jackson said the other day, that fans would get to see shots of Jasper before he turned into a vampire, as well as before he met Alice, the love of his life and the woman who helped him become the wonderful person that he was by the end of book three. What this also means is that “Eclipse” will have more action-packed scenes than both “New Moon” and “Twilight” put together.

“Yes, I get to shoot some Civil War stuff, and I’m also going to shoot a lot of fighting scenes. It’s interesting; there’s a lot of cool scenes where Jasper trains the Cullen family on how to fight the newborns. He gets to train Emmett – and Emmett is a born fighter – so he’s telling Emmett all these techniques, and Emmett thinks he could just best Jasper [during their sparring]. Jasper ends up getting the best of him, because it’s a war mentality, not just a street brawl. It’s about thinking ahead; it’s a chess game.” Jackson was saying the other day.
