The long-expected moment has finally come: Comic-Con, the event when the official promo campaign for “New Moon” kicks off. Given the magnitude of the project and the overwhelming reaction of the fans to the first film in the installment, it’s no wonder all eyes were on the red carpet where Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart posed for pictures, as JustJared can confirm.

Over the past couple of days, several other major projects, but “New Moon” more specifically, began to build up hype for the convention, with the release of new shots, videos and interviews. In the case of the second installment to “The Twilight Saga,” the frenzy reached a climax yesterday, when the official “New Moon” website was updated with countless goodies for eager fans. The presence of the three stars at Comic-Con is, as they say, only the icing on the cake.

As fans must remember, the first time rumor emerged that both Pattinson and Stewart would attend the event, it was being said they would do so as a pair, an official couple, or, at least, that they would not bother hiding their romance on the red carpet. Clearly, this was not the case, as both kept their composure and aloofness and posed for pics next to Lautner, described by many movie insiders as the hottest actor of the young generation.

Those disappointed things did not turn out differently (meaning, the supporters of the Pattinson-Stewart romance, which, for the record, has never been confirmed but countless times denied) were not entirely heartbroken, as they got to hear Taylor and Kristen speak of their respective parts in “New Moon.” “Last year, Comic-Con was the big eye-opener for us. This is our opportunity to come out and thank our fans for everything they’ve done.” Taylor Lautner said.

Stewart, on her part, decided to reveal more about the movie itself, for those fans who had not yet read the book. “This is a severely emotional movie. This movie is not about discovery, about falling in love… this is low. She’s a manic depressive, basically. It’s a more mature part.” Kristen shared about Bella Swan, the character she’s playing.
