After having recently announced the launch of its own 128GB USB flash drive, the Freemont, California-based Patriot Memory has decided to further expand its line of high-performance memory products with the launch of its AMD Black Edition Ready DDR3 G Series, specifically designed to deliver support for AMD's socket AM3 processors and desktop platforms. With performance in mind, the new DDR3 memory kits are to provide AMD fans with a choice for a high-end memory module that fits the standards created for the “Dragon” platform.

“We are thrilled to launch our new AMD Black Edition Ready G Series for use with AMD OverDrive software,” says Mai Kosla, Patriot's VP of Sales. “Receiving the AMD Black Edition Ready approval is a testimony for Patriot's high standards in engineering and quality manufacturing.”

According to Patriot Memory, users of the AMD Dragon platform can use the AMD OverDrive overclocking software to fine-tune their memory modules, enabling a performance increase on AM3 processors coupled with the latest AMD 7-series of chipsets. The AMD Black Edition Ready memory is available in 4GB kits with speeds of 1333MHz and 1600MHz, coming to provide users with a high-performance DDR3 memory kit.

“Platforms featuring the latest socket AM3 for AMD processors, including the AMD Phenom II processor family, takes full advantage of the new Patriot Gamer Series memory,” said Leslie Sobon, VP of Product Marketing, AMD. “Combined with AMD OverDrive software version 3.0.2, users can experience a state-of-the-art, real time over-clocking utility that allows unprecedented control over their AMD processor / chipset and memory to help push the performance threshold to it peak limits.”

Working at voltages of between 1.5V and 1.8V, the new memory modules are available in several configuration options, enabling end-users to pick the level of performance they want to take advantage of.
