Sir Patrick Stewart is officially off the market again, having just tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Sunny Ozell. The actor has confirmed the happy news on his Twitter and, in typical fashion, refused to offer more details.

Attached to this article is the photo that the actor, perhaps best known for his roles in “Star Trek” and “X-Men,” used for the confirmation.

It came with the simple caption, “Yes, married.” Fans will notice that the twitpic is a variation of the photo Patrick had set for his Twitter profile, which showed him alone in a ball pit for kids.

Following reports that Sir Ian McKellen, Stewart’s good friend and longtime collaborator both on screen and on stage, officiated the wedding, McKellen himself confirmed them on his Facebook.

He posted a photo of himself with his Doctor of Divinity certificate and, linking back to Patrick’s status, he wrote, “I did my part.”

Further details about the ceremony are not available at this time.

Fans probably remember that, back in March this year, during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, McKellen said that he would be officiating at his friend’s wedding.

He even cracked jokes about how he would “marry Patrick,” which was particularly funny because of the double entendre caused by the fact that Ian is openly gay.

“I’m going to marry Patrick,” he said. “How else do you put that? I’m going to officiate at his wedding,” he revealed at the time.

On the same occasion, McKellen said that this would not be his first time officiating a wedding, because that was when he married a gay couple.

The actor said that he was “crying [his] eyes out” throughout the ceremony because he got caught in the moment, and boasted about wearing a fancy white outfit because he “didn’t want to upstage the bride.”

Below is the video of the interview.
