If ABC will be renewing “Grey’s Anatomy” past its current 10th season, you should not worry that Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo might not return, because they have just inked new deals guaranteeing they will be around for at least 2 more seasons.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms the great news, while also pointing out that, despite the lack of an announcement from the network, “Grey’s” will still be around for some time. So fans, just sit back and continue to enjoy the ride because it’s far from over.

“The series has not yet been formally renewed but it remains a valuable asset for ABC. In its 10th season, the series is tied (with ‘Scandal’ and ‘Agents of SHIELD’) as the network's top series among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic with a 4.7 rating,” THR says.

“Among total viewers, ‘Grey's’ is third at ABC, trailing ‘Castle’ and ‘Scandal,’ with the fellow Shonda Rhimes drama ‘Scandal’ outperforming ‘Grey's’ in the metric by about 200,000 viewers,” adds the same media outlet.

Not too shabby for a show that’s been around for so long.

Considering that the season 10 finale will see series regular Sandra Oh leave for good, hearing that Dempsey and Pompeo will still be around is excellent news. They have been on the show since the start.
