Though not all, some Justin Bieber fans (aka the Beliebers) aren’t what you might call polite on social media. This is a lesson Patrick Carney of the Black Keys has learned the hard way, after he changed his profile pic on Twitter to one of Justin’s.

The “feud” between Carney and Justin goes back to the Grammys this year, when he told the paparazzi that Justin did not need a Grammy (he was totally snubbed this year) because he had money and fame, which was what he was gunning for after all.

In response, The Biebs said on Twitter that Carney should be “slapped haha.”

Changing his profile pic to Justin’s (it’s now back to normal, by the way) is Carney’s way of retaliating, though, unlike Bieber, he does not instigate to violence or spread hate.

Bieber’s fans are doing just that. If you follow the link in the first paragraph, you will see some of the things they’ve been writing to Carney, things he’s retweeting and even responding to.

From insulting him for being “gay” to calling him all kinds of names, the Beliebers are also wishing on him all sorts of gruesome deaths and accidents – all in the worst English you could expect to find online.

If this was Carney’s experiment meant to show the world the kind of audience Justin Bieber reaches with his music, his mission is complete.

For the record, this isn’t the first time that Justin Bieber fans react this way. They did the same on this occasion, and this, and this one as well.
