Grinding Gear Games, the developer of the popular Path of Exile free-to-play dungeon crawling role-playing experience, confirms that a new set of Halloween-themed items is available for purchase inside the game, in the form of a Jack-o-Lantern Helmet skin, a rolling head, and more.

Path of Exile has been around in alpha, beta, and final versions for quite some time, offering an old-school role-playing experience that's reminiscent of iconic dungeon crawlers, such as Diablo 2, in terms of both challenging mechanics and content.

Throw in the huge talent tree system, not to mention the pretty deep commitment from developer Grinding Gear Games, and millions of players are spending quite a lot of time, not to mention money, in the free-to-play game.

Halloween items can now be purchased

In order for players to get into the Halloween spirit, the studio confirms on its website that three different items are available as limited-time microtransactions in the RPG until November 2. As always, the special offers won't be re-released in the future, so this is your only chance to get them in the role-playing experience.

"It's that time of year again! For the next week only (ending November 2, US time), we're selling a range of exclusive Halloween microtransactions. Like last year's ones, these are only available from this promotion and won't be sold in the future," the studio explains.

A helmet skin, a rolling head pet, and pumpkin decorations are out

The actual items are quite intriguing, starting with a special helmet skin that turns your current head item into a Jack-o-Lantern. You can proudly display it for all the other players to admire, just like any regular helmet skin. Bear in mind that only one can be active at any point in time, but you can reclaim it and transform another helmet if you get a better one in combat.

The second Halloween item is a pretty gruesome Rolling Head pet. Just like the game's regular pets, you can set the Rolling Head to patrol your hideout or just follow you around. As you can see in the video below, it paints a pretty gory picture but fits the violent Path of Exile universe.

Last but not least, there's the Pumpkin Hideout decoration that can be placed around your hideout for that extra Halloween charm.

For players who want to make the most of their in-game coins, you can get a Halloween bundle that includes one helmet skin, one pet, and four decorations at a lower price than buying them separately.
