Patent War Reveals Photos of Different iPad Prototypes

It turns out that Apple went through a whole bunch of iPad prototypes before it finally settled for the last and lawsuit-causing one.

The Verge published some really interesting product prototype photos, some of which we've already been through (the iPhones).

The ones we enclosed in the gallery below are of iPad prototypes different from the original and gigantic one revealed here.

Indeed, the tablet – or tablets – since there is more than one design, are smaller. Some have kickstands, other have large handles on the side.

This shows just how many shapes Apple went through before finally settling for the simple rectangle.

One can only wonder what would have happened if Apple had patented all these ideas as well.

Then again, nothing says that the Cupertino company won't do something with the designs in the future.
