If you want to visit Google's official webpage, you should be able to see the search box that allows you to enter the keyword for your search process. Besides this, several options are also available that help you find what you were looking for with ease.

"I'm feeling lucky" option enables you to be redirected to the first page in the Google's search engine result page so you'll easily find your information. Advanced search also contains multiple functions to define your search easier.

Beside these options, Google created a list of the available searches that is placed above the search box, allowing you to search for images, videos, news, maps and more. The More option contains other functions provided by Google to search for blogs, books, froogle, groups and now, for patents.

As you may know, Google Patent Search is the latest search function created by Google that allows you to search for patents registered in the U.S. It is quite curios why the search giant decided to include the new search into the main page because Patent Search is still in beta stages, being released one week ago.

Phillipp Lenssen posted a message on his blog to announce this new feature saying that this is only a test because it is not displayed in multiple browsers.

"Google has added a link to their new Patents search engine to the homepage, though this may be a limited test visible only to some, as Ionut notes. Indeed, Patent search seems to be too fresh to deserve this honor, though this is also possibly part of a new Google strategy; pimp new services straight from the homepage for a limited amount of time, and monitor their click-rates," he said.
