Patrick Verner announced two days ago, March 24th, the immediate availability for download of the Parted Magic 2012_3_24 Linux distribution for partitioning tasks.

Being powered by Linux kernel 3.2.13, Parted Magic 2012_3_24 is here to fix some issues related to the Clonezilla and Busybox interaction, and to update the X.Org drivers. The developer notes that the Busybox "ls" and "stat" applets no longer work with Clonezilla.

The Nouveau-git, xf86-video-openchrome 0.2.905, xf86-input-keyboard 1.6.1, xf86-video-wsfb 0.4.0, xf86-video-modesetting 0.2.0, xf86-video-vmware 11.99.901, and xf86-video-glint-1.2.7 video drivers were also updated.

Parted Magic 2012_3_24  brings two new tools: md5deep 4.1 and bar 1.11.1. Also, the pmagic_shred_zero, pmagic_wipe_part, pmagic_erase, and pmagic_wipe scripts were improved.

Last but not least, Mozilla Firefox 11.0, nwipe 0.08 and e2fsprogs 1.42.1 are also included in this release. And, Mount Partitions utility now mounts LVM partitions correctly.
