Google, for all of its tech chops, is quite keen on art as well, especially when it meets with technology. Many Chrome experiments can be seen as modern art and many Chrome experiments are straight up art projects. In the latter category is This Exquisite Forest.

Essentially a Chrome experiment, the project uses modern web technology to enable people around the world to tell a collaborative visual story, i.e. draw together.

The site has been around for a few months now and it's gotten quite a gathering. Artists build off of each other's work and branch out, quite literally, in different directions from the same source.

It's gotten to the point where there's so much going on, it's hard to keep up. Which is where the new Endless Theater comes in.

The Endless Theater, quite simply, is a page that gathers the best animations and branches and puts them together, a curated look at This Exquisite Forest.

What's more, if you're an artist contributing on the project or even if you're just a fan of a particular animation, you can now embed animations on your own site.
