Alan Baghumian announced last night, November 13, the immediate availability for download of the Parsix GNU/Linux 4.0 operating system.

Dubbed Gloria, the stable release of the Parsix GNU/Linux 4.0r0 distribution has been officially released after a Preview version and three Test releases.

Powered by Linux kernel 3.2.28 and X.Org 7.7, Parsix GNU/Linux 4.0r0 features the GNOME 3.4.2 desktop environment, and popular applications, such as GNU Iceweasel 16.0.2, LibreOffice 3.5.4, VirtualBox 4.1.18, Gparted 0.12.1, and Empathy 3.4.2.3.

"Parsix GNU/Linux 4.0 (code name Gloria) brings tons of updated packages, faster live boot, improved installer system and quality new features. This version has been synchronized with Debian testing repositories as of November 7, 2012 and brings lot of updated packages compared to Parsix 3.7 aka Raul."

"Parsix Gloria is project's first release with GNOME 3 series and ships with LibreOffice productivity suit by default. Gloria has a brand new software manager package," Alan Baghumian said in the official release notes.

Moreover, there's new artwork implemented in Parsix GNU/Linux 4.0r0, based on the Foresight GTK2 theme engine by Og Maciel, the Faenza icon theme by tiheum and the Metal X Shell theme by justviper.
