Bluetooth car kits are not something new and undoubtedly, they're not something revolutionary either. However, some interesting car kits do emerge once in a while. Parrot is one of the companies that manage to offer something new.

They've recently announced the Parrot PMK5800, a Bluetooth car kit with an embedded FM emitter. This means that you can select a radio frequency and use the car's speakers to transmit voice.

What's more, the Parrot PMK5800 omni-dimensional microphone picks up your voice while eliminating surrounding noises such as sirens or road-works for a superior voice pick-up.

The Parrot PMK5800 also allows you to send the mp3 files on your mobile phone to the car stereo, provided that the terminal supports the Bluetooth Stereo (A2DP) standard. Another benefit is that if you are listening to the radio or a CD, the easy call-pickup function ensures you won't miss a single call.

To answer an incoming call, just press the selected FM preset and the Parrot PMK5800 automatically detects you have changed the frequency and connects you to the caller.

The base insert of the kit is completely adjustable: the driver can easily choose its orientation, whatever the location and conformation of the 12V cradle, while the plastic ring ensures compatibility with all diameters as well.

The Parrot PMK5800 user-friendly interface sports a dual side LED screen: the driver can set the display on whichever side is best in order to check the correct radio frequency. Parrot says that PMK5800 is compatible with virtually all Bluetooth mobile phones on the market.

All in all, it's hard not to find the Parrot PMK5800 - priced at 89 euros - a good deal.
