A game that was never meant to be...

Can a very good game pass us without even a glance? Apparently it can.

It's no wonder that some companies go bankrupt just because the publisher can't do its job properly (in this case 1C from Russia).

The game features a much larger universe than Freelancer and accomplishes much more. It has some astonishing features like: 500+ stellar systems, freedom of choice between pirate, merchant and mercenary, possibility to upgrade your spaceship and your space-suit using different implants (like an RPG system), option to walk on planetary surfaces in an FPS-like manner and an ocean of opportunities: fight in open space, control warbot troops, capture enemy bases and the entire star systems, colonize planets. Basically, you can become the ruler of the galaxy!

It collected a lot of prizes and achieved recognition of Russian and foreign developers, journalists and ordinary players, it was named Best PC Game at the Computer Game Developers Conference (GDC 2005). Parkan II has been successfully optimized for the Intel architecture joining the Intel Software Identifier programmed in Intel Pentium 4 with Intel Hyper-Threading support. Parkan II effectively uses the advantages of Hyper-Threading to achieve the highest performance possible.

And yet we knew almost nothing about it. Hopefully, in the future most games will get a more decent publishing deal.

Parkan II was launched on May 27, 2005.
