Despite reports to the contrary, Paris’ recent suicide attempt was a cry for help

Paris Jackson, 15, Michael Jackson’s only daughter, was rushed to the hospital the other day, after she reportedly tried to kill herself by swallowing pills and then slashing her wrists. She had no intention of dying though, says a new report.

As we also noted the other day, word online had it that Paris had tried to take her own life on other occasions as well but, this time, she wasn’t just trying to get attention.

Insiders said she’d been depressed and upset, and had really wanted to kill herself.

TMZ is now saying that police are convinced this was just another cry for help, or else she would not have called a suicide hotline right after she took the pills, and before she took a meat cleaver to her wrists.

“Law enforcement sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ, based on the information the LA County Sheriff's Dept. has gathered... ‘She wanted attention’,” the celebrity e-zine writes.

“She wanted to be saved. It makes no sense if you really want to die to call a hotline, where the person on the other end will get an ambulance over to your house,” the insider explains.

Paris’ behavior when help arrived is also a possible clue into the fact that she was just asking for help.

“We're also told Paris was conscious when EMTs arrived and did not argue or put up a struggle when she was placed on a stretcher,” TMZ writes.

Reps for the family would not say whether Paris really tried to take her own life, but they did say that she’s “physically fine” and recovering at the hospital.

One particular statement alluded at the fact that she had a lot on her plate, starting with her father’s death in 2009, family feuds, going on stand to testify, school, and the likes. Reports even say she might have been bullied in school but, as of now, there’s no proof of that.
