14 DAY TRIAL // Like she usually does, while she dated former “The Hills” star Doug Reinhardt, Paris Hilton could not stop gushing to the media about how in love she was, how she had finally found her Mr. Right and how a wedding was in their immediate future. Going to show that all good things do eventually come to an end, a rep for the blonde heiress has just confirmed to People magazine that the two are no longer an item.
Paris first started to show herself in public in Doug’s company approximately six months ago. Although she was telling people ever since back then that she was totally in love, many, including some of her closest friends, had trouble believing the affair was real, especially since Doug seemed like the kind that would only date her for publicity. Now, half a year later, Paris appears to have finally realized that this was indeed, the case.
The official line is, however, that the two thought their relationship had run its course. “In response to the inquiry on whether Paris Hilton has split up with Doug Reinhardt, yes, this is true they are no longer together. They remain friends and ask that you please respect their privacy.” Hilton’s publicist tells People. TMZ, on the other hand, has an entirely different story: the two had a very violent fight that was like the straw that broke the camel’s back, have called it quits and are now already talking smack behind each other’s back.
“Sources close to the couple say she sealed the deal-breaker by revoking Doug’s right to enter her gated community, so early this morning Doug was left boohooing at the barricade when he realized he was locked out for good. The same source tells us Paris couldn’t be happier, because she now realizes ‘Doug is a douche just like everyone tried to tell her and that he was only dating her for publicity’.” TMZ writes of the breakup. Moreover, the paparazzi agency even has a video of Paris storming out of a nighclub, presumably after the fight that ended the relationship.
Speaking of fighting, reports about the two not really seeing each other eye to eye anymore started to circulate a while back, when cops had to be called at Paris’ house after yet another violent and loud argument. Neighbors who called the police said the two yelled at each other until the wee hours of morning. Paris and Doug though defended themselves by saying that the heiress caused a scene when she received a certain prank phone call (about her dog Tinkerbell being killed in a car accident), and all he was trying to do was to calm her down.
