Paris Hilton Splits from Cy Waits

Paris Hilton is single – and presumably ready to mingle – again. Following a rather rough patch with beau Cy Waits, the reality star has ended the 1-year romance, but is still friends with Cy, it has emerged.

Talk of trouble in Hilton paradise first started making the rounds earlier late last week, with sources close to the couple telling the media that the two were taking some time off to “reevaluate” their relationship.

As it turns out, they must have reached the conclusion that it wasn’t working anymore, so they decided to call it quits, sources confirm for Us Weekly.

“Not-so-hot: Paris Hilton is single again. After about a year together, the celebutante and beau Cy Waits have called it quits, multiple insiders confirm to Us Weekly,” the publication writes.

The split was amicable and the two still care deeply for each other, spies say.

“They are broken up. It’s sad, she cares about him a lot and thinks he’s a great guy but they really hit a rough patch,” one tipster reveals.

There was no third party in the split. The reason for it could have been the fact that Cy did not cope well with having every moment of his life documented on camera – he simply hated the spotlight, it is being said.

“[Cy’s] found it difficult to live his life with her in the spotlight and that’s what caused their split. No drama, it’s amicable, but things didn’t work out,” the insider explains.

As we also noted last week, word that they were having issues first got out as Paris’ new reality show, “The World According to Paris,” premiered to very poor ratings.

Because of this, many celebrity pundits and bloggers simply assumed Hilton was planting stories about her love life in a bit to get more media attention, which would boost the ratings of the show.

Apparently, it wasn’t a stunt. Confirmation is still pending from Hilton’s publicist.
