Paris Hilton Jams Up Traffic

Hate to sound like an advertisement for a movie twenty years ago, but Paris has been known to have stranger effects of people... So here goes. She has the power to slow down traffic. The whole world freaks out when she steps onto the street. It's her...the heiress...the diva...the porn star...ooops...the film breaks and the enchanted audience snaps back to life.

Yup, it's Paris all right, former would-be singer, author, perfume designer (I have to stop soon or I'll make her sound like Madonna or something) and soon to be musical star has managed to outshine the competition with another...well, shining talent. Paris had launched her own clothes collection and in doing so managed to cause a traffic jam, which led to the police eventually closing one lane altogether in order to make room for the hordes of swooning fans.

The thing that worries me the most is that the crowd was not there to buy Paris' clothes, but to SEE the heiress...or at least catch a glimpse of her among the hysteria that she usually creates wherever she shows up. She was at Kitson's fashionable boutique where she launched her clothing line made up of jeans, shoes and trendy, colored T-shirts. "It's a dream come true to have my own clothing line. It's just Paris style: fun, bright and flashy. They are really comfortable and really affordable. It's just from my closet to their closets", she said among many smiles and doing what she does best which is...nothing in particular, really, but the crowds still seem to adore her.

Looking at the clothes in question, I can honestly say that they are indeed Paris-style, which is glamorous, shiny and entirely devoid of any practical use. The colors are flashy and the hugely printed logos that mostly read - well, guess what...yes, that's right, "Paris" (I know, really imaginative, ain't it?), all spell "narcissism" in capitals letters. And in case you haven't found the reason for which we all like Paris so much despite her obvious lack of engaging in any kind of useful activity - here's another suggestion. This time I guess it's because she looks like she's cleaned up her act and is back to the old, self-absorbed, "I'm the center of the universe" routine. Or maybe we've all secretly longed for our own clothing line and need to look up to Paris as to a role model. Joke. Bad joke. You didn't buy that, did you?
