Nicole Richie is getting married this weekend to longtime beau and the father of her children, Joel Madden, reports say. The ceremony will be super private – so small that not even her childhood friend Paris Hilton is invited.

Though no official announcement has been made in this sense, paparazzi spotted a lot of activity at Lionel Richie’s (Nicole’s adoptive father) house, prompting speculation that the wedding may take place this weekend – today, in fact.

However, the petite reality star doesn’t want to make a big deal of it, wherefrom the aforementioned lack of an official announcement.

In fact, reports cited by PopCrunch say, she wants the wedding to be such an intimate affair that she deliberately left out Paris Hilton, her former BFF (“best friend forever”), childhood friend and co-star in the series “The Simple Life.”

If it’s any consolation for Paris, other celebrity friends too were overlooked, a spy explains.

“Nicole’s wedding will be super small, and a lot of people who have played a role in her life like Paris have been cut from the guest list,” the insider dishes.

“Nicole cut down the guest list because she didn’t want a huge wedding. She didn’t invite a bunch of her celeb friends. This has apparently upset a lot of people,” the spy goes on to say.

Of course, this really isn’t that surprising, especially since the two haven’t been seen together in a very long time, confirming rumors that they had officially cooled off and went their separate ways years ago.

As for the wedding, not much is known right now, but word in the blogosphere has it that Nicole has been working out a lot lately to be in top shape for the big day – when she’ll be wearing a “fabulous” Marchesa creation.

“Although details of the ceremony are scarce, insiders say Little Harlow will serve as a flower girl as her parents wed and Richie pals Samantha Ronson and Christina Aguilera will be in attendance,” PopCrunch writes.

“In fact, Christina – who is in the early stages of a divorce from hubby Jordan Bratman – is expected to perform a song for the bride and groom,” the e-zine also notes.
