The American heiress failed to cause a blast with her dancing skills in Turkey

Paris Hilton fails to impress her Turkish hosts with her belly dancing skills

Bad news for Americans everywhere: Paris Hilton abandoned the land of the stars and stripes and is now intent on conquering other nations and continents. The starlet is currently accompanying her new beau, Benji Madden, and his band Good Charlotte on a world tour that has already taken them to Africa. The happy duo - who have been together for about two weeks now - are currently in Turkey, where Paris tried her hand at something she never did before: judging a beauty pageant. While struggling to decide on the prettiest, most sexy lady in all Turkey, a famous local belly dancer tried to make Paris display her table-top dancing, belly shaking moves - to less-than-pleasant results.

The Turkish hosts were obviously thrilled to have Paris as a judge, so much so in fact that they decided to do the logical thing, and feed the soon-to-be-former-heiress' famed narcissism by allowing her to take the center stage and amaze the world with her dance moves. The trick was that Turkish ladies know quite a lot about belly dancing, which only served to embarrass Paris and cast a shadow over her already world-famous attention-grabbing skills. In short, Paris showed the world she simply doesn't have the moves when it comes to shaking and undulating her abdomen. When the blonde heiress was asked to join a famous local belly dancing lady named Arsena on stage, she promptly obliged, but showed she still has a lot to learn in the moving and shaking department.

Paris took the floor wearing a golden top and a long skirt, looking appropriately demure and mindful of local color and customs. However, as you can see from the clip embedded below, she quickly abandoned trying to emulate her Turkish host and just did what Paris usually does: smiled and tried to look sexy without doing much. However, the whole world now has proof that one of Paris' most famed skills (which, since we're talking about one of the...ahem, controversial figures of the modern-day celebrity world) is not as great as it was cracked up to be. But if a career as a belly dancer is out of the question, she can always turn to acting, modeling, singing, clothes designing...
